Project "The White Project" Day 29

Greetings) I just came back from school and feel just completely exhausted...:/ Basically I have spent the whole day making this one freaking yoke!! Nevertheless did not managed to finish it...

This is the point where I started my day.
Putting bits and pieces together.
Mirror-imaged one side to another to see how it looks when it is
. a whole garment since the shirt will be symmetrical.

So, this is the point where my adventure started to emerge...:/
The problem was, when I applied 2 shoulder pads, the horizontal line of the yoke changed.
(the shoulder pads lifted the the yoke which made the lines tilted.

Remade it and again and again and again....changing this bit and that bit...and ended up like.....

THIS -_-

It is really difficult than it looks like and I have still did not manage to do it...
Oh well, I am back to work! Wish me luck, hopefully God will give me some mercy somehow ://

Project "The White Shirt" Day 28

Hello :D This will be my first post and blog ever created in my life so I really you guys will enjoy my blog.
I will basically post things about my life being an international fashion student living in Moscow, Russia. (Yes, not New York, Milan, London or Paris, BUT! Moscow :))
("About me" will be posted soon!)

Currently, I am working on a project called "The White shirt". Basically you need to make a shirt but in a more contemporary and innovative interpretation. The most exciting part of this project is that you get to choose one designer (from the list provided) and design for them.
I have chosen Alexander McQueen for my designer since he is one of the artists/designers I admire and respect.

This is the breif of the project! :)) The list of the designers are Paul Smith, Vivienne Westowood, Commes Des Gracons, Hussein Chalayan, Alexander McQueen (my designer! :)) and the last but not least, Balenciaga.

I will be sharing some of my sketchbook pages I have selected that might (hopefully) interests you:D

Please forgive me the placement of these pictures:S I have no idea how to organize them in a neat way!

The sketchbook consists lots and lots of deep research about my concept which is about women power, women's right and all that jazz :). Also vast amount of experimentations are included to push myself furthur to get the most out of it.

This is the stage where I am at now. Since this project started at the 13th of Noevember, it is diffucult for me to post all the massive works I have done previously. However, for now on, I will post very frequently. Anyway, back to my current process!  I finished working on my samples for collar, sleeves and bodices. These samples does not necessarily have to be for the final design. Samples are just for experimentations and evaluate them in order to develop furthur.
